Southbank Show- various opening credits

The Southbank show seems like an older version of the Culture Show. The opening sequences are very relevant for the c.s. openings, as they include various forms of art, yet they are relevant for england as well. It is not just about culture, but about the world's culture in England.

Motion Reel found on Youtube.com

From Hong Kong school of Art

Steve Watkin motion graphics reel

The sequence on this site for Australia's first ABC1 channel. An assortment of Australia's best animator's and directors were chosen to complete this sequence.

I really love the film and animation together. It takes the simple ideas or just film footage, and allows a lot of motion and fantasy to come into the scenes. Not a clear narrative, but with the addition of the animations the whole piece is brought together.

I like the texture of the piece as well. Would want to try something like this for the culture show. Many layers, doing different things.

Can take the basic principles of the culture show, whether that is going to the theatre, being at a gig or an art gallery, and having animations and 2d images play within the scene.

Dendrite 3

Little tid-bit of info

Like the neon, like in the Jonas/francois video (Kandinsky-testarossa autodrive) Could work...

Dendrite 2

Cool beans...

Neural Impulse: Dendrites

Cool movement. Good potential for an opening sequence, maybe start as a dendrite and move into other things that behave in the same way, incorporate different cultural artifacts...?
